Saturday coffee
Report for Annual Church Meeting 2004

From: Bridge Street: Reports for Annual Church Meeting

Once again my thanks to our loyal band of Saturday morning helpers. Coffee, cakes buns, scones - you name it, we make it!

To the late Mrs Ethel Lewin, a special tribute. Mrs Lewin started the Coffee Mornings back in 1981 and we still have a few of the original helpers. Our customers are very loyal - we are so busy sometimes that, all eight tables being full, people happily sit in the Church and enjoy a peaceful time drinking their coffee.

Ted's stall is very well supported and greatly missed when Ted takes his few weeks off. December saw our first 'Come and Sing Carols' -o ur customers were delighted, and some stayed right through the morning. To Bill at the organ and to David leading the singing, our grateful thanks.

We organised two table top sales which were very popular. Our next one is in March. Twinings continue to supply our coffee, tea and sugar - our thanks also go to them.

A very good year in all. A special vote of thanks go to those who help out at holiday times. To all who help in any way, making Saturday mornings so very enjoyable, my grateful thanks.

Billie Fellender.
